A drama based on the lives of Iyer couples based on their families, set in the 1950s. Anjali and her husband Krishnan, despite their traditional values and conservative approach to marriage, believe in living a progressive life and encourage each other to explore their abilities and pursue careers. When they find out that she is pregnant with a 4th child -in spite of following natural methods of contraception- Krishnan decides that Anjali should take up an assignment as headmistress at a girls' college. She is reluctant but agrees when he does not withdraw his support for her abilities as an educator. He soon regrets his decision when he finds out that Anjali is having a relationship with a student.The film was released on 14 January 2011 and received critical acclaim from all corners. It is the highest grossing Malayalam movie of 2011.In 2012, the movie won six Kerala state film awards.
